Relative humidity in neonatal incubators: implications of thermal sensation on new borns

CBEB_fotoThis paper presents a set of measurements of temperature, relative humidity and thermal sensation made in neonatal incubators. The aim of this paper is to open discussion on the effect of thermal sensation on preterm infants when subjected to the micro climate of incubators in everyday use. The results show that the thermal sensation experienced by infants may be greater than 40 °C, even when the air temperature in the incubator is less than 33 °C.
